Thisgorgeous hand-thrown butter keeper keeps butter fresh with a unique trick that uses water to create a barrier between the butter and outside air. The base of the dish is filled with about a quarter inch of water and the lid of the dish is packed with soft butter. The dish is stored at room temperature with the lid inverted. The butter hangs upside down allowing the rim to touch the surface of the water(creating the seal). Not only does this store your butter in style but more importantly it stores your butter at room temperature so it is soft and spreadable. The inside is finished with a speckled white glaze which provides an easy-to-clean surface and a nice contrast to the rustic exterior.
